What a business development rep. does

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing crop insurance agents to support profitable, long-term business.

Serve as a primary resource for agents by helping interpret government regulations related to the Federal Crop Insurance Program.

Work with internal teams to ensure customers are trained on business processes and tools, including web-based, mobile and mapping platforms.

Attend and present at company trainings, meetings and industry events.

Research agent questions and concerns and provide timely, professional follow-up and solutions.

Develop and execute strategic marketing plans and forecasts to support product and service goals.

Review and analyze agent performance, production data and business results.

Evaluate market trends and adjust strategies to remain competitive and responsive to changing conditions.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners and external customers to attract and retain business.

Knowledge of sales principles and the agricultural industry.

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools.
