August 28 Agent Update

A Look Back at Some Recent AgriNet Enhancements

By Scott Speaker, Chief Information Officer

At AgriSompo, we’re determined to make our AgriNet system the most powerful crop insurance processing platform in the business.

Our development team is constantly at work adding new features, improving workflows and keeping the system up to date with the latest RMA requirements. Most importantly, our work on AgriNet is always guided by agent requests and feedback.

I’m proud of the work our team has done, and today I’d like to revisit several major improvements we’ve made to the AgriNet system over the past several months. Make sure that your agency is taking full advantage of all these enhancements!

The Policyholder Tracking System (PHTS)

Our Policyholder Tracking System is a new tool for importing APH databases into AgriNet which makes the process quick and simple – that means no more manual keying of histories! Agents and underwriters can use an easy-to-understand interface to manage their APHs, with the flexibility to load everything at once or select databases individually.

The Profit Matrix

The Profit Matrix is a powerful addition to AgriNet Quoting which creates plan comparisons tailored to an individual policyholder’s unique needs. Agents can generate custom quotes based on the precise expenses and incomes of a given operation. The system concisely compares up to five insurance options at once and clearly illustrates how a policyholder’s coverage will change with various plan and yield combinations.

Our Updated Billing Statement

Completely redesigned by popular demand, our new billing statement has been carefully formatted for ease of understanding and to clarify the various due dates associated with both private products and Multi-Peril Crop Insurance.

A Faster SOI Workflow

We recently completed a major project to expedite the issuance of Schedules of Insurance. This upgrade will get SOIs into the hands of agents and policyholders without the delay of waiting for acreage report verification. This allows agents to verify policy information sooner and correct any mistakes earlier in the policy life cycle.

AgriNet Mapping’s Quick Plant

Our highly requested Quick Plant tool allows users to rapidly report multiple fields at once with just a few easy clicks. It functions similarly to the Quick Report tool available in the previous version of AgriNet Mapping.

This versatile feature may also be used to report Prevented Planting acres and uninsurable acres, and to edit previously-created planting events.

Click here for a video guide to using Quick Plant.

AgriNet Connect

Available now for your mobile device, AgriNet Connect allows agents to open claims from anywhere. And it’s not just agents who benefit: producers can check the status of their claims on the go, and our adjusters can use the platform to get to the field faster, work claims more easily and get your clients paid more quickly.

With the AgriNet Support Center, agents can report software issues, request updates, view the status of their open tickets and connect directly with our support specialists. And don’t forget about our brand new AgriNet University: your go-to destination for software training materials tailored for both new and experienced agents.

Agent Testimonial: Why Crop Insurance Matters

Kyle Mahuika is a crop insurance agent out of Washington who has partnered with AgriSompo. He is a passionate advocate for the crop insurance program and the role it plays in protecting the livelihoods of American producers.

In this short video, Kyle perfectly articulates the importance of crop insurance as an indispensable safeguard for farmers and our country’s food system. “These growers wake up early every morning and work hard – basically on a hope and a prayer that they’ll be able to grow their crop and sell it at a profitable price,” he says. “Crop insurance is the only risk mitigation tool they have to ensure that they can come back and do it another year.”

Want to help protect the future of American agriculture? Join ACRE!

We created the American Coalition for Rural Engagement, or ACRE, to ensure that agents and producers have a voice in Washington. We work to educate officials and the public about crop insurance and to promote policy that supports the growth, flexibility and reach of the crop insurance program.

Software Spotlight: Keying MCO in AgriNet

The AgriNet system has recently been updated to support the new Margin Coverage Option (MCO) endorsement.

MCO is designed to protect producers of corn, cotton, grain sorghum, rice, soybeans and spring wheat in select states from unexpected declines in operating margins. MCO offers area-based coverage for losses due to falling yields, commodity prices, or rising input costs and can be added to existing insurance plans like YP, RP, RP-HPE, or APH.

Regulation Roundup

This month, the Federal Crop Insurance Commission made changes to the Florida Citrus Fruit policy for the 2027 crop year. The Pistachio Crop Provisions were amended for the 2026 crop year to allow optional units by organic farming practice and to apply several other changes.

For the Common Crop Insurance Policy, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) approved 2026 CY projected prices and price volatility factors for insurance offers with a projected price discovery period of July 15, 2025, through August 14, 2025.

To stay up to date with the latest information, be sure to bookmark the RMA’s “What’s New” page and check it out regularly.

RMA Announces Increased SCO Premium Subsidy, Other Changes

The Risk Management Agency has announced several changes to the federal crop insurance program as a result of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. These changes are effective for all policies with a sales closing date on or after July 1, 2025.

Changes to the program include the following.

The premium subsidy rate for the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO), Enhanced Coverage Option (ECO), Margin Coverage Option (MCO), Hurricane Insurance Protection - Wind Index (HIP-WI) and the Fire Insurance Protection Smoke Index (FIP-SI) endorsements has increased from 65% to 80%.

Beginning Farmer and Rancher (BFR) benefits have been expanded.

The Whole Farm Revenue Protection policy has increased its maximum coverage level from 85% to 90%.

Help Us Collect Policyholder Email Addresses

One of AgriSompo’s goals is to improve efficiencies and lower our carbon footprint with regard to physical mailings. We are working toward sending these documents digitally, decreasing the time for insureds to receive policy documentation.

To help us achieve this goal, please ensure your customers have a valid email address on file using the Insured Address List report in AgriNet.

This report can be found under the Reports tab. Open the Underwriting menu and select Insured Address List. The report may be exported into an Excel or PDF document. AgriSompo thanks you for your cooperation and assistance.

Important Reminder

Policyholders for Reinsurance Year 2026 will soon start to receive a notice (as required by policy) regarding changes to basic provisions, crop policies, endorsements and special provisions of insurance.

You can access past and current Insured Notifications within the Saba system. In the Crop Insurance Wiki section, click Insured Notifications. The notifications are organized by the sales closing date (when applicable) or the mailing date. We hope this will assist with any questions your customers may have after receiving a notification letter.

Insureds that are eligible for precision agriculture (PA) will also soon start receiving information about where to obtain the PA Enrollment Guidelines as required by the RMA. PA only applies to category B crops.

Please contact your AgriSompo representative if you have any questions.

Notice of Policy Document Issuance

Following sales closing dates, insureds will receive policy issuance letters along with a coverage confirmation. These documents can be viewed within AgriNet in the policy's Imaging screen.

Please contact your AgriSompo representative with any questions.
