Since its founding in February of 2024, the American Coalition for Rural Engagement (ACRE) has pursued its mission to protect the crop insurance industry and guarantee a bright future for American farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
Below, we’ve highlighted some of the most important initiatives we’ve undertaken over the last year with the support of agents, producers and AgriSompo employees. Want to help us continue the fight? Click here to become a member of ACRE.
ACRE members Keith Ellis and Dawn Coleman recently traveled to Goldsboro, N.C. to represent our contribution to Representative Don Davis. Davis' strong support for crop insurance programs and advocacy for agriculture plays an important role in maintaining stability for farmers and ranchers.

Representative Davis represents Georgia’s 1st congressional district, and has supported agriculture through federal funding, farm policy advocacy and rural development initiatives.
Notable efforts include:

Left to right: Carolyn Payne, Representative Sharice Davids and Brad Leighton.
Leighton and Payne spoke with Representative Davids about the importance of crop insurance and presented her with a PAC contribution made possible by the members of ACRE.
ACRE members also participated in an event with Representative Austin Scott in Moultrie, Georgia last autumn. Representative Scott, who represents Georgia’s 8th district, is the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture and the Chair of the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management and Credit. He was also a member of the conference committees for the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills.

Left to right: Clay Pirkle of the Georgia House of Representatives, Plenn Hunnicut, Jerry Story, Jake Chamness and Representative Austin Scott.
Representative Scott met with Plenn Hunnicut, an AgriSompo agent, member of ACRE and the sponsor of the Moultrie event; Jake Chamness, the Senior Regional Vice President of AgriSompo’s Southeast Region; and Jerry Story, a Regional Claims Manager in the Southeast. They presented Representative Scott with a PAC contribution and provided a packet of educational information to the congressman meant to emphasis the importance of protecting the program.

Only with your support can we continue our advocacy with key legislators like Representative Davis, Representative Davids and Representative Scott who are guiding the future of American agricultural policy. If you haven’t already, please consider becoming an ACRE member for only $25 per year.
ACRE members also have the ability to donate to our Political Action Committee (PAC). While much of your membership dues are used to offset ACRE's administrative costs, any PAC donations go entirely toward our mission to promote legislature that benefits crop insurance.
